Major WWE Raw Star Set For SmackDown
A big-name WWE star could make a surprise appearance on SmackDown.
On September 13th SmackDown will switch to the USA Network after leaving Fox and the company is pulling out all the stops to celebrate.
Ahead of the show, Triple H announced that the Cage Match between Cody Rhodes and Solo Sikoa will open the show. Not only is the bout a huge rematch from SummerSlam, Rhodes’ Undisputed WWE Title will be on the line.
The show is also expected to feature the return of Roman Reigns as he continues his own battle with The Bloodline.
Meanwhile, it’s been reported by Mike Johnson of PWInsider, that World Heavyweight Champion Gunther will also be at the taping.
Despite the report, there’s no word on whether Gunther will actually appear on-screen or compete in a dark match. Interestingly, in his announcement concerning Rhodes and Sikoa, Triple H hinted that more surprises would be on the way, while announcer Corey Graves said he expects the show to be “special.”
