Major WWE Babyface Will Allegedly Turn Heel

A former WWE Champion might soon turn heel, according to a veteran manager.

Jim Cornette believes Randy Orton could abandon his babyface persona and is, therefore, untrustworthy.

The Viper had a tough outing at Night of Champions, where he faced Cody Rhodes in the final of the King of the Ring Tournament.

Orton had the chance to end Rhodes’ momentum with a punt but hesitated.

However, the American Nightmare didn’t, who sent Orton into an exposed turnbuckle before hitting him with a Cross Rhodes for the win.

Thanks to his victory, Rhodes will face John Cena at SummerSlam in August for the Undisputed WWE Championship.

While appearing on his podcast Drive Thru, Cornette said:

This was refreshing. Great babyface match where neither guy turned heel or did anything out of character. After Orton lost, he was walking back, he was not looking happy and you never know what might happen in the future. [05:27 onward]

Randy Orton To Face Returning WWE Star At Saturday Night’s Main Event

The July 4 episode of SmackDown opened with Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton sharing the ring.

However, their segment was interrupted by Drew McIntyre, who was last seen at Saturday Night’s Main Event on May 24.

McIntyre claimed Orton not only lost the match at NOC, but also a psychological battle against Rhodes leading up to their match in Riyadh.

He even tried to drive a wedge between the two friends by pointing out how Rhodes relentlessly attacked his injured back.

The Scottish star goaded them some more. Having heard enough, the ‘Legend Killer’ nailed him with an RKO.

Drew was later seen backstage, angry, and demanded that manager Nick Aldis give him Orton in a match, which was set for SNME on July 12.
