Major Update On Sheamus’ Replacement In John Cena’s Tournament
The final set of first-round matches ended tonight on WWE SmackDown. Seven competitors have been finalized for the next round of matches till now, but one spot remains up for grabs.
There have been many theories on who the winner of the tournament would be, and former WWE Champion Sheamus was one of the fan-favorite options before his untimely injury.
Fans were clamouring to see the Celtic Warrior take on Cena one last time and possibly win the Intercontinental Championship from him, his shoulder injury has now ruled him out of the tournament. He was set to take on LA Knight in the next round, but now, he’ll be replaced by someone else.
Nick Aldis and Adam Cole to decide Sheamus’ Replacement
Penta and Carmelo Hayes became the final two wrestlers to advance to the next round tonight. Speaking right after Penta’s win, Michael Cole confirmed how Sheamus’ replacement is going to be decided.
He confirmed that the General Managers of RAW and SmackDown, Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis, were meeting tonight to discuss who will face LA Knight on the blue brand next week.
