Major Star To Return At AEW Worlds End
One of AEW’s biggest names is closer than ever to a return.
Kenny Omega was forced to take a hiatus in December 2023 after being diagnosed with diverticulitis.
During that time he’s largely stayed away from the industry, but he appeared at NJPW Power Struggle in November declaring his intention to wrestle again. Once backstage, Omega got into a scuffle with Gabe Kidd which laid the foundation for the match between the pair at Wrestle Dynasty.
While his in-ring return is set to take place in Japan, vignettes have begun appearing for the star on AEW television. And following reports he would be back with the company before the end of 2024, he could be about to make a big impact.
Kenny Omega On Brink Of AEW Return
According to a new update from Fightful Select, the “active plan” is for Omega to be at Worlds End, although in what capacity remains unclear. The star hasn’t been actively on the road with the company at all in 2024 after being diagnosed with diverticulitis.
Omega is set to leave for Japan on January 1st or 2nd, and he’ll be around for Wrestle Kingdom on January 4th, even though he hasn’t been publicly advertised for the event.
The news comes after it was reported that Adam Copeland will make his own return to AEW on January 1st. The WWE Hall of Famer has been out of action since breaking his leg at Double or Nothing.
