Major Star Signed With WWE Because Of AEW
A WWE star was initially warned to stay away from wrestling.
From the moment he exploded onto the WWE scene in NXT, Bron Breakker was tipped to take the wrestling industry by storm.
Since then, he’s won the NXT Championship twice, the Intercontinental Championship twice, the NXT Tag Team Championship, and the Dusty Rhodes Classic. In short, the second-generation star has been marching to the top.
In more recent months, Breakker has formed part of The Vision, initially under the guidance of Paul Heyman and Seth Rollins. But that was before he helped kick the latter to the curb. But if it wasn’t for the launch of AEW, he might never have become a wrestler at all.
How Bron Breakker Ended Up In WWE
During a Geek’d Con panel, Scott Steiner gave his thoughts on Breakker’s success before being asked what advice he gives to the former NXT Champion. Steiner said he initially told Breakker to stay away from wrestling, but the creation of AEW made the industry stronger and more appealing.
“The first advice I gave him was don’t get into wrestling. But that was before AEW started up. So it’s actually- it’s always better to have two companies. Otherwise, it’s a monopoly and it’s not good for the wrestlers.
So, but no man he’s skyrocketed he just picked up everything so fast, mainly because you know, when he was little, 10, 11 years old, he’d always watch watch my stuff. Then he’d ride his bike over to my house and do my interview. So I think that’s one of the reasons why he’s ahead of the game right now.
But, yeah, I just, when he calls for advice or, you know, he’ll do something wrong, like I’ll, you know, give him a call, try to help him out.”
According to a new report, Steiner isn’t alone in thinking his nephew is heading to the top. In the weeks after it was revealed that Seth Rollins would be missing several months, it was reported that Bron Breakker is in line to become World Champion, with a rough plan in place.
At Saturday Night’s Main Event, CM Punk beat Jey Uso to win the vacant World Heavyweight Championship.
