Major Star Calls On WWE To Bring Back Famous Event

Triple H WWE Raw

Another top name wants a Premium Live Event to return.

In October 2018, WWE held its first — and to date only, all-female pay-per-view, Evolution. The event was created to capitalise on the ‘Women’s Revolution’ and showcase just how far women’s wrestling had come over the previous few years.

The event featured legends such as Lita and Trish Stratus, as well as the biggest stars of that era. In the main event, Ronda Rousey defeated Nikki Bella to retain her Raw Women’s Championship.

On July 11th, WWE launched “What Do You Wanna Talk About” with Cody Rhodes in association with Wheatley American Vodka. The first guest on the new YouTube show was Women’s Champion Bayley who discussed a whole range of topics including the strength of the women’s division in 2024.

During the conversation, Bayley said she would like to see Evolution make a return to showcase that stacked roster.

“Yes. Why not? Like we were just saying, there are so many women. So the thing about the first one was we had so many girls from NXT for one, but they got to showcase, you know, on a bigger stage. But they had so many women from the past. It’s kind of like the first few (Royal) Rumbles a lot of women from the past because we didn’t have enough women to fill up these matches, but like now we do.

And I think it would be so cool to give everybody on Raw and SmackDown a part of that show, Evolution 2. You can bring girls in from NXT. You can bring girls in…we just saw Jordynne Grace on NXT, you know, TNA girls, like whatever that connection is there. We can bring different girls in, and you can bring someone from the past, like if they’re up for it, to do a little something.

But we have such a stacked roster right now. Yeah, where it’s like, we can hold down a show on our own and other PLE on our own. And it’s been so many years where it’s not like it’s something we have to do every year where we’re kind of like, ‘All right.’ We’ve seen it enough times, but I think it’s time because it is a different era compared to back then.”

WWE Bad Blood To Return

On the eve of Money In The Bank, WWE announced the return of Bad Blood on October 5th in Atlanta, Georgia. In 1997, the event played host to the first-ever Hell In A Cell match between The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels. The match famously ended with the debut of Kane.

To date, there have only been three Bad Blood events with pay-per-views in 2003 and 2004 following the classic in ’97.

Interestingly, each Bad Blood show to date has been headlined by a Hell in a Cell match.
