Major NXT Star Ready For WWE Main Roster Move
Another big-name NXT star could be closing on a switch to the WWE main roster.
The September 23 edition of NXT went off the air in total chaos following an invasion by several members of the TNA roster.
In the main event, TNA World Champion Trick Williams met NXT Champion Oba Femi in a huge “Title vs. Title” clash. However, the match never made it to a satisfactory conclusion.
Mike Santana had already joined Booker T and Vic Joseph on commentary when Williams slapped him in the face. And with that, the brawl was on. Several members of the TNA locker room then rushed the ring from the crowd, only to be joined by their NXT counterparts as the show ended.
During an appearance on Booker T’s Hall of Fame podcast, Williams opened up about his current run and said that he’s ready and waiting for that main roster call-up.
“Yesterday couldn’t have been soon enough, man. I’ve been ready to make that jump to the red or blue brand for a long time. I feel like it’s that time, I feel like it’s been that time. I feel like people wanna see that. But, as for now, wherever I am, I’m just gonna make sure it’s the hottest show.”
TNA Star Close To WWE Switch
In recent days, it’s been reported that Joe Hendry is being “phased out” of TNA as his contract draws to a close. It’s believed that the Scottish star will sign with WWE on a full-time basis in early 2026, making his switch to NXT official.
Hendry has wrestled just once on TNA since July, and has been appearing in NXT with growing regularity since mid-2024.
Back in May, it was reported that it’s a “lock” that Joe Hendry will sign with WWE when his TNA contract expires.
