Major Free Agent Says WWE “Can Only Teach One Thing”

A top star on the wrestling free agency list doesn’t think WWE has much to offer.

Kota Ibushi has been a free agent for months now after his contract with NJPW expired. With him no longer tied down to a single promotion, he has been rumored to be fielding offers from many different places, including both WWE and AEW.

And while Ibushi has competed for the company in the past, his recent comments don’t make him sound too enthusiastic about joining them.

Speaking to Dark Puroresu Flowsion, a Twitter account noted for translating for Japanese wrestlers, Ibushi noted that WWE’s training program only focuses on one single thing: entertainment.

To Ibushi, a man with an extensive martial arts background, this isn’t enough to make a complete wrestling star.

“WWE can only teach one thing. Wrestling is more than just entertainment. I want to teach you from the real battle stance.

“That’s what I can say WWE doesn’t have. I still train in martial arts & wrestling”

Kota Ibushi wrestled his first matches in two years a few days ago for Game Changer Wrestling (GCW). On March 30th, he wrestled “Speedball” Mike Bailey, and on the second night he beat Joey Janela.

Aside from taking his in-ring career in a different direction, Kota Ibushi has also expressed interest in opening a wrestling school.
