Major Claim Made About Jey Uso’s WWE Future

Jey Uso successfully established himself as a singles wrestler in the first half of 2025.

His journey saw him step up to the indomitable Ring General Gunther so much so that he became the most over superstar leading up to their match at WrestleMania 41.

And then the unthinkable happened when he made Gunther tap out at “the Grandest Stage of Them All,” thus kicking off his first major title reign.

Even as the World Heavyweight Champion, he was a hit with the WWE Universe, which is a rarity among babyface champions.

However, he lost the title back to the Austrian on the June 9 episode of RAW and has been directionless ever since.

Jey Uso had his chance of getting back into the title picture but lost in the semi-finals of the King of the Ring Tournament against Cody Rhodes, who ultimately won the opportunity to face John Cena.

Sam Roberts of the NotSam Wrestling podcast recently discussed Jey Uso’s future with the company.

I think Jey might need to reestablish himself because it’s been made very clear that Jey and Gunther is done. Jey said from the beginning that Gunther and I, as far as he’s concerned, are 1:1.

But I do think it’s time for Jey to find a new purpose and a new specific opponent. Maybe that’s around the corner, maybe that’s for SummerSlam, I don’t know. [1:08:18 onwards]

Could Jey Uso Join The Fight Against MFT?

Jimmy Uso and Jacob Fatu were handed a beatdown by Solo Sikoa’s MFT on the July 4 SmackDown episode.

While discussing Jey Uso’s possible journey of aligning with Jimmy and Fatu, Sam Roberts said:

I don’t think that Jey Uso gets involved in this. I don’t see what it has to do with Jey Uso to tell you the truth other than the fact that his one brother Jimmy is on Jacob Fatu’s side and his other brother, Solo, is the one fighting them. He’s related to them but based on the story that he’s telling on RAW, I don’t see what that story has to do with Solo’s family right now.

Jey’s decline in fresh storyline opportunities is a surprise. Failing to find him a new angle could alienate WWE from his fans.
