Major Change For Young Bucks NJPW Title Match
The Young Bucks will have to overcome two teams in their return to NJPW.
The NJPW Wrestle Dynasty event is set to take place on January 5th from the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan. It’s a card that features many top stars from other promotions like AEW’s Kenny Omega, Mercedes Mone, and Konosuke Takeshita to name a few.
AEW EVP’s The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) are also set for a match at Wrestle Dynasty where they could win the IWGP Tag Team Titles. The Young Bucks are former IWGP Tag Team Champions who also held the IWGP Junior Tag Team Titles seven times in their careers. The Bucks have also held the AEW Tag Team Titles three times.
There has been a change to The Young Bucks match at Wrestle Dynasty that had nothing to do with the Bucks themselves. After Tetsuya Naito and Hiromu Takahashi had a great match at Wrestle Kingdom 19 on Saturday, the team of The Great-O-Khan and Jeff Cobb confronted them. Naito & Takahashi suggested they get added to the United Empire’s match against The Young Bucks at Wrestle Dynasty.
That match change has been confirmed by NJPW on their official website.
After their highly emotional singles encounter on January 4, Hiromu Takahashi and Tetsuya Naito were quick to get back on the same page as a team.
The World Tag League winners secured a guaranteed shot at the IWGP Tag titles with their trophy win, and have exercised that right for Wrestle Dynasty.
As Great-O-Khan has revealed his partner for Dynasty to be the Imperial Unit Jeff Cobb, and both teams are joined by the returning Young Bucks, who will be 106th champions?
For Matt & Nick Jackson, it will be their first NJPW match since AEW launched in January 2019 although that doesn’t count the co-produced AEW-NJPW Forbidden Door shows.

When Was The Last Time The Young Bucks Had A Match?
Matt & Nick Jackson should be well rested going into their Wrestle Dynasty match since they haven’t wrestled in over two months.
The Young Bucks’ last match was on the October 30th edition of AEW Dynamite when they lost the AEW World Tag Team Titles to Private Party’s Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen.
It’s not known when The Young Bucks will return to AEW television and if they will still be part of The Elite stable with Kazuchika Okada and Jack Perry.
