Major Change Coming To WWE Raw After Netflix Switch
A big change is coming to Monday Night Raw when WWE’s flagship show moves to Netflix.
On January 6th, 2025, WWE Raw will premiere on Netflix, and the company is determined to ensure it premieres in style. The episode will feature many of the company’s biggest names including John Cena, while there’ll also be a live performance from Travis Scott.
There have also been rumours that The Rock will appear on the show, even if his WrestleMania status remains uncertain.
There had also been talk of the company moving away from its usual family-friendly presentation and shifting back to something akin to the Attitude Era. However, that won’t be the case according to those involved.
In a recent interview, Triple H said WWE will remain a place for families, stating Raw definitely won’t be rated R any time soon.
Big Update On WWE Raw
While the content on Raw will remain largely the same on Netflix, when fans can watch the show will be changing.
According to a new report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, starting in January, Raw will air live, no matter where in the world the show is being taped. This means that when Raw is taped in Europe ahead of WrestleMania in 2025 it will air in the afternoon in the United States.
At present, if Raw and SmackDown are filmed outside of North America, the episodes are shown on a delay in their usual timeslot.
The show will then be available on demand “ASAP” when it goes off the air.
The WWE Network is now free to fans in the UK and Ireland before it closes at the end of 2024. From January, all content will move to Netflix for viewers in the region.
