Major AEW Stars Taking Indefinite Hiatus

Tony Khan AEW

Two AEW stars will miss Full Gear.

The main event of the October 30th episode of Dynamite will be fondly remembered for years to come. After numerous failed attempts and several years of struggle, Private Party finally won the World Tag Team Titles.

To add even more emotion to the occasion, the pair had vowed to split up if they couldn’t get the win.

The end came when Private Party nailed Nicholas Jackson with Gin and Juice to win the AEW Tag Team Championship. In an uncharacteristic display of respect, The Bucks handed over the title belts to the new champions.

The Jackson brothers were later seen leaving the arena noting that the working environment was too chaotic and they’d be working from home. With the Jacksons gone, Jon Moxley and the BCC attacked Brandon Cutler, with Claudio Castagnoli smashing his hand with a hammer.

The Young Bucks Taking AEW Break

Reporting in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, reiterated an earlier update noting that Nick Jackson had been dealing with a shoulder injury, before confirming that the brothers would be taking a break.

Although The Bucks are set to feature Wrestle Dynasty in Japan in January, there is no schedule for a return to AEW television. Their opponent for the AEW/NJPW cross-promotional show is yet to be confirmed.

The Young Bucks did an angle after dropping the tag titles to Private Party where they were shredding papers and left to “work at home.” The idea is that Moxley’s group has caused so much chaos that it’s unsafe and they don’t want to get involved, with the idea of eventually coming back and saving AEW. Nick has a separated shoulder and has been working on it for weeks.

There is no set timetable for a return past it’ll be for a while, and they aren’t scheduled for the Full Gear show. It’ll be no longer than January since they are confirmed for the joint AEW & NJPW show at the Tokyo on 1/5.

At Full Gear, Jon Moxley is set to defend the AEW World Championship against Orange Cassidy.
