Major AEW Star Not Cleared To Compete On Dynamite
One big AEW star was forced to stay out of the ring on Dynamite.
Jon Moxley suffered a worrying injury at Dynamite Grand Slam when he put his AEW International Championship on the line against Rey Fenix. The injury is believed to have occurred early in the bout and as a result, the finish of the match was changed to have Fenix win the gold.
That switch is believed to have caused plans in the company for WrestleDream to have changed while the match official is said to have “heavy heat” over the controversial finish to the bout.
Before Dynamite went on the air, Tony Khan took to social media to note that Jon Moxley was not cleared to compete on the show but Rey Fenix had been which enabled the AEW International Champion to put his gold on the line:
“Last week at #AEWDynamite Grand Slam, @ReyFenixMx won the International Title. Both Fenix + former champ @JonMoxley were injured in the bout. AEW Doctors are unable to clear Mox tonight, but moments ago they DID clear Fenix, who will defend his title in an Open Challenge TONIGHT!”

Who competed for the AEW International Title on Dynamite?
Rey Fenix’s open challenge for the title was answered by WWE Hall of Famer Jeff Jarrett and that bout opened Dynamite in Denver. Ultimately Rey Fenix picked up the win but he will have to put his gold on the line once again on the 4th anniversary edition of Dynamite against a familiar opponent.
The Young Bucks’ Nick Jackson won a three-way bout against Brian Cage and Claudio Castagnoli to earn a shot at the Fenix’s title.
