Michael Cole had one top AEW star on his mind as he referenced an infamous World Heavyweight Title match on WWE Raw.

On Raw in Fort Lauderdale, Sheamus finally got his hands on his former Brawling Brutes partner Pete Dunne in a first-time-ever singles match. During that match, Raw announcer Michael Cole reminded fans watching of one of Sheamus’ major title wins that took place in Florida as he referenced a top AEW star:

The former World Champion Sheamus – won one of his World Titles just down the road from Fort Lauderdale in Miami at WrestleMania, beating Daniel Bryan in 18 seconds to win that World Championship.

Bryan Danielson Wants AEW Title Success

Daniel Bryan was of course the WWE name of current AEW star Bryan Danielson. Sheamus defeated the star in just 18 seconds to win the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 28. In the long run, that win did more for Daniel Bryan as the fans got behind him in a huge way and kickstarted the Yes Movement that forced WWE to put him in the main event of WrestleMania 30 where he captured the WWE World Heavyweight Title.

Bryan Danielson has set his sights on championship gold again as The American Dragon will put his career on the line when he challenges Swerve Strickland for the AEW World Championship at All In on August 25th in Wembley Stadium.
