Major AEW PPV Struggling Badly With Ticket Sales

Tony Khan AEW

AEW is heading to Australia for the very first time in 2025 but it seems fans aren’t flocking for tickets for that show.

On the pre-show for All In back in August, AEW announced that Grand Slam was heading to the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, Australia on February 15th 2025.

The stadium is home to the NRL’s Brisbane Broncos and the A-League’s Brisbane Roar, boasting a capacity of 52,500. The stadium attendance record is currently held by Ed Sheeran who filled the venue with 59,185 fans.

But Tony Khan’s company might be struggling to get anywhere near that number for their event.

AEW Grand Slam Australia Ticket Sales Very Low

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer explained that currently ticket sales for the event are not looking good:

Not good…stadium shows are tough. It’s not England where they have like a very large fan base and you have all of Europe to draw from as well.

This is Australia and the only place you can sort of draw from, maybe New Zealand, and that’s still a flight. It’s not like Japan is close, you’ve not got a lot of countries close. It was an ambitious idea but I remember when it was announced I thought this is going to be really tough.

2024’s Dynamite Grand Slam saw a former WWE star make their shock debut in AEW and Bryan Danielson found out his AEW World Championship challenger for WrestleDream on October 12th.
