Long-Time Absent AEW Star Spotted Backstage

Tony Khan stands with AEW roster

The AEW roster could be about to receive another boost.

Following the news that Sammy Guevara has been cleared to return to the ring, and Serena Deeb is on the verge of her own comeback, it seems that another AEW star is zeroing in on a return.

According to a new report from Fightful Select, Kyle O’Reilly has been backstage and it’s looking like he could return to programming. The former NXT star has been out of action for well over a year after undergoing neck surgery.

O’Reilly later revealed that he’d suffered a “post-surgical issue” that was delaying his recovery.

When Did Kyle O’Reilly Last Wrestle In AEW?

Kyle O’Reilly has been out of action since losing to Jon Moxley on the August 6th, 2022 episode of AEW Dynamite. A month later, O’Reilly underwent surgery and has been facing a long battle to regain fitness since.

The report from Fightful notes that the star has been working with a strength and conditioning coach for a number of months.

There remains no word on when O’Reilly will be back on television.
