Logan Paul Reveals Personal Reason Why He Wants To Open SummerSlam
Logan Paul has explained his very personal reason why he wants to be in the opening match at WWE SummerSlam.
It was one year ago this month when Logan Paul had his first singles match in a WWE ring at SummerSlam. He did a tag team match before that, but at SummerSlam 2022, the pressure was on as he faced The Miz in a singles match. Paul picked up the win and looked very impressive in doing so.
After that strong showing at SummerSlam, WWE put Logan Paul in the main event of Crown Jewel against the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns. While nobody really expected Logan to win that match, he still put on an incredible performance and had a terrific match with the Tribal Chief.
In 2023, Logan Paul competed in the Royal Rumble and Money in the Bank Ladder matches for the first time in his career.
At WrestleMania 39, Logan had another fantastic match against a top guy in WWE, Seth “Freakin” Rollins. Paul lost that match too, but again his profile was raised because he competed with the best in the company and proved that he belonged.
While it’s not official yet, Logan Paul is scheduled to face Ricochet at SummerSlam in a match that is stemming from their crazy table spot at Money in the Bank.
On the latest edition of Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast with Seth Rollins as the guest, Logan spoke about how he wanted to go on first at SummerSlam in Detroit, so he could make it to Dallas to watch his brother Jake Paul’s fight later that same night.
“After SummerSlam, my brother who is fighting on the same night in Dallas, as soon as my match ends, I’m going to hop on a PJ [private jet], fly to Dallas in my gear, walk in the ring with my brother for his fight against Nate Diaz.
I’m going to try to. I don’t know if I’m going to make it, but I think if I do, it’ll be minutes. Like, I walk into the venue, round one Jake Paul/Nate Diaz starts.
I requested first match. We did the math, it’s barely doable.”
