When Liv Morgan Will Make WWE Return Following Movie Role

The WWE return of Liv Morgan is coming sooner than many fans may have thought.

Liv Morgan announced on the April 28th edition of WWE Monday Night Raw that she needed to travel to Japan for a movie role.

It was reported that Morgan would appear in the movie “Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo,” which Takashi Miike would direct. In the film, Morgan will share the screen with Shun Oguri and Lily James.

In her film debut, Morgan will play a politician’s daughter who goes missing in Tokyo, while Lily James is the FBI agent sent to Japan to lead the investigation into her whereabouts.

PWInsider reports that Morgan finished filming her “Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo” scenes earlier this week.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider also reported that Morgan “crushed” her first acting role and was a natural on the site, likely due to her experience as a WWE superstar. Johnson added that “Morgan blew everyone, including experienced industry veterans, away with her work.”

While no specific date was mentioned, Johnson mentioned that Morgan is expected back on WWE programming very soon.

If Morgan returns on the May 19th episode of Raw, then that would mean she missed only two episodes to film her movie role.

Liv Morgan Has Aspirations For More Movie Roles

During an interview in November 2024, Liv Morgan revealed that she regularly auditions for acting roles outside of WWE.

“I think these crossover opportunities are amazing … it brings new viewers to each of these products that are involved. I audition regularly. I would love to be involved in more film, television, media.

I just want to see what I can do in that space, and for WWE to be involved in that and to be supportive of that and to be helping me, guide me through all that is really amazing and cool too. But I just want to see what I can do.”

Morgan has been with WWE for over ten years and is a three-time Women’s Champion. She and Raquel Rodriguez have also held the Women’s Tag Team Titles four times. Morgan and Rodriguez are the current champions, so when Morgan returns from her movie role, she’ll likely be in tag team action again.
