Liv Morgan Believes Suffering Injury Changed Her

Liv Morgan injured WWE

Liv Morgan reflects on how time away from WWE due to injury forced her to discover herself

Liv Morgan suffered a dislocated shoulder on June 16th, 2025, in a match with Kairi Sane. Morgan had to take a break from WWE for five months to recover from the injury.

However, at Survivor Series: War Games in November 2025, Morgan made a shocking return. After getting back with her faction, Judgement Day, and accompanying its members at ringside for their matches in the weeks that followed, she returned to in-ring action, too, first at a WWE live show in December 2025 and then officially on Raw’s Netflix anniversary special this past Monday in a match with Lyra Valkyria, in which she emerged victorious.

Liv Morgan Explains How The Injury Changed Her

Growing up, WWE meant a lot to Liv Morgan (Real name: Gionna Daddio), so she never viewed it like one would view a conventional job. Speaking to Stephanie McMahon on her What’s Your Story podcast, she admitted that the five months in which she was out of action forced her to rediscover who she is. Liv Morgan is the confident and badass character that she plays on screen, but she reveals that she’s a sensitive little girl in reality. This brought about a mindset shift, admits Morgan

I think sitting with myself those five months and just being Gionna Daddio and not Liv Morgan. I’m like, ‘Man, I’m such a p*ssy, I guess.’ I’m, like, such a sensitive little soft girl. And I’m still trying to shake it off a little bit.

But I don’t know, I think just being me for this extended period of time shifted a lot of my mindset as well. Like, I feel different. I don’t feel like I’m the same person that I was six months ago.
