Lilian Garcia Pulled From WWE Role After Just 5 Months

Lilian Garcia

Veteran ring announcer Lilian Garcia will no longer be a weekly fixture on WWE television.

When WWE fans think about the greatest ring announcers in company history, names like Howard Finkel and Tony Chimel come to mind. Many others have come and gone over the years, including Lilian Garcia.

During the beloved WWE Attitude Era, Lilian Garcia was the main ring announcer since she started with the company in 1999 and had a ten-year run with the company. After departing in 2009, Garcia was back in 2011 for another five-year run that ended in 2016.

Samantha Irvin shockingly left WWE in October 2024 even though she was one of the most popular ring announcers ever due to her incredible voice. After Irvin left, WWE brought back Lilian Garcia again and she has been a regular first on Raw and then on SmackDown ever since.

Lilian Garcia Will No Longer Be On Weekly WWE TV

At WWE SmackDown in Barcelona, Lilian Garcia was on hand as the ring announcer and even spoke Spanish for some introductions during the show.

After the taping, Garcia posted on Instagram announcing that it was the end of her run as a full-time SmackDown ring announcer. However, Garcia will remain with WWE on a part-time basis.

BREAKING NEWS Just finished announcing SmackDown in Barcelona, Spain, and it was absolutely incredible! Gracias por todo el amor España! But now I have some news—this was my last show as the full-time SmackDown announcer.

A new era is upon us, but I will still be with the company as I will be announcing for all Saturday Night’s Main Event shows, singing at certain special events, and currently working on other show ideas with WWE! WWE is my home, so stay tuned as a new chapter begins. I invite all of you to continue this journey with me as we share it together! Bottom line, thank you, and I love you dearly!”

The next two Saturday Night’s Main Event shows are May 24th and July 12th.

There’s no word yet on who will replace Lilian Garcia on SmackDown. Currently, WWE uses Alicia Taylor on Raw and Mike Rome on NXT, so one of them may be on SmackDown as well unless the company decides to bring in somebody else for the role.
