Lex Luger Wants WWE Hall Of Fame Double Header
Lex Luger is heading into the WWE Hall of Fame but he’s hoping the company will let him have something rare at the ceremony.
Cody Rhodes revealed Lex Luger was heading into the WWE Hall of Fame in the same year that Triple H, Michelle McCool, and the Natural Disasters will all be honoured.
The WWE Hall of Fame ceremony is in for a big change in 2025 after years of it being tacked onto the end of SmackDown tapings. With many inductees now announced, talk is turning to who will be the ones inducting them and Lex Luger has explained why he wants two people to share that task.
Lex Luger Promises A Short Speech
Speaking on Busted Open, Lex Luger became emotional when he discussed his induction into the WWE Hall of Fame and admits he’s lost for words:
Hey, hey, guys. How about it? Man. I’m floating on a euphoric cloud nine of love and congratulatory — swimming in it. It’s unbelievable.
I just went back in time (when I got the news I was being inducted into WWE Hall of Fame). If you would have told me 20 years ago, ‘Do you want anything to do with the wrestling business ever again?’ At the place I was in, I’d almost given up it would ever happen but, to go from there, 20 years later to being announced in the Hall of Fame… I’m at a loss for words. That’s for sure.
When it comes to who could induct Luger into the WWE Hall of Fame, he admitted he’s hoping the company will let him have two people help him out:
Well… A couple people have been discussed (to induct me into WWE Hall of Fame) and so, I’m kind of going for… I go, ‘You guys ever had a double header?’ I’m not long-winded. So when I speak, I’ll be a few minutes so, maybe more than one guy? Kind of up there with me at least?
So, yeah, I have two guys in mind and it’s kind of going up through the chain of command with some various people so, we shall see. Stay tuned.
During his career, Lex Luger was a Horseman, a WCW World Champion, and a member of the NWO Wolfpac, and the Total Package. Luger is probably most closely associated with Sting but given The Icon’s contract status with AEW then him being the one to induct Luger seems unlikely.
A former Horseman such as Ric Flair or Arn Anderson might be more likely as is Cody Rhodes who broke the news to Luger as well as DDP who has worked closely with the star on his health in recent years helping the wheelchair bound Luger to stand again.
