Lex Luger Shares Memories Of Appearing During Macy's Thanksgiving Parade In 1994

In a recent episode of the Lex Expressed podcast, former WWE and WCW star Lex Luger shared his memorable experience of participating in the 1994 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. The event, which featured several WWE Superstars on the New York Daily News float, left a lasting impression on Luger despite some challenging weather conditions.

Luger, along with other wrestling icons including The Undertaker, Doink the Clown and his sidekick Dink, Davey Boy Smith, and then-WWE Intercontinental Champion Razor Ramon, braved the frigid New York weather to be part of the iconic parade.

To be a part of that. Oh my gosh, yeah, one of my greatest memories. It was freezing cold and the wind that day was mind-boggling.

Despite his Buffalo roots, Luger found himself unprepared for the intensity of the cold.

I don’t know if I’ve ever been so cold. I grew up in Buffalo, New York my entire life. I couldn’t feel my feet from the mid-shin down where I was frozen in ice blocks. I thought I might have had frostbite. By the time you’re in the float, and you get from the back to right in front of the Macy’s, you’ve been out and exposed for hours.

However, the experience wasn’t without its lighter moments. Lex Luger shared an amusing anecdote about The Undertaker’s attempt to secure a better camera angle for when their float would be shown on TV.

The Undertaker went to climb up higher than the rest of us, like he needed to, he’s so tall anyway. He started climbing up on the float, and what he was climbing on broke, and he fell down, and I thought maybe he injured himself. We were laughing.

Despite the cold and mishaps, Luger emphasised the positive memories created that day with his fellow WWE stars.

It was all worth it, people send that to me all the time on Thanksgiving, that shot of me on the float with the guys.

Who Does Lex Luger Want To Induct Him Into The WWE Hall Of Fame?

While Lex Luger isn’t currently in the WWE Hall of Fame, he has discussed who he would like to induct him one day. Luger said that the first name that comes to mind is his friend and former partner in WCW – WWE Hall of Famer Sting.
