There’s an update on what is going with WWE’s Ronda Rousey, who is still dealing with an arm injury.

The last time Ronda Rousey appeared on WWE TV was at WrestleMania 39 as part of a Fatal 4-Way Women’s Showcase Match. The four teams were Rousey & Shayna Baszler vs. Raquel Rodriguez & Liv Morgan vs. Chelsea Green & Sonya Deville vs. Natalya & Shotzi.

During the match which went about nine minutes, Rousey’s tag team partner Baszler appeared to suffer some sort of right foot injury and finished the match without her shoe on. As for Rousey, she really didn’t do much in the match until tagging in at the finish and applying an armbar to Shotzi for the submission win.

Ronda Rousey has been dealing with a serious injury to the left arm that has prevented her from wrestling often for WWE in 2023.

In an update, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer said “Ronda Rousey is still not cleared, so they can’t do the Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler thing, which was the plan.”

Going into WrestleMania 39, there were reports that Rousey was focused on being a tag team wrestler with her good friend Baszler and perhaps they would become the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions fairly soon. However, that hasn’t happened due to Rousey’s arm injury.

One week prior to WrestleMania, Rousey detailed her injuries in a post on Instagram. This is part of what she wrote:

“How do you train with no ACL or cartilage in your right knee as well as a fractured radius? Focus on what you CAN do – I have some of the most versatile training routines on earth, I need to do PT, build strength, retain flexibility, and train technique across multiple disciplines – sometimes all in a single session.”

“Well, after thousands of dislocations (I thought not tapping out to armbars and tearing ligaments was cool in my teens) my elbow finally fractured simply by slapping the mat in Rockford, Illinois- right before Wrestlemania.”

“The only thing saving these chicks now are the doctors not letting me compete. Well ladies, they can’t keep me away forever, I’m not moping, vengeance is coming.”

On last week’s April 10th edition of WWE Monday Night Raw, Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez became the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions when they beat Becky Lynch & Trish, who was replacing Lita in the match.
