There’s a new WWE brand coming and there is an update on when we might learn more information about it.

The WWE NXT UK brand lasted for about four years from the fall of 2018 until the company decided to end it in September 2022.

Unfortunately for WWE, the brand was significantly hurt by the COVID-19 pandemic which led to all wrestling shows and sporting events shutting down from performing in front of fans in March 2020. It wasn’t until July 2021 when WWE was able to perform in arenas in front of fans again.

During a WWE conference call in November 2022, WWE’s Chief Operating Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque explained why NXT UK was shut down.

“When we started NXT UK, the desire was to sort of replicate what we were doing in the U.S. and we got a start on it and then COVID hit and slowed everything down, and then we needed to rethink it. So we got to a place where we were ready to go again but it’s sort of tough to rebrand something and reboot it while you’re still running it. So we shut it down.

As Europe evolves and grows once we bring that back I think we will begin to see it replicating a bit more of what you see in the U.S.”

Since shutting down NXT UK, WWE has announced that they were going to start NXT Europe at some point in 2023. Now that we are nearly halfway into the year in the month of June, fans are wondering when we will learn more about NXT Europe.

An update on NXT Europe was provided by Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, who tweeted that there should be news about it later in the summer: “News is supposed to come late this summer in some capacity.”

For now, WWE remains tight-lipped about NXT Europe, but hopefully we learn more about it later in the summer.
