Late Change Made To Match Finish At WWE Bad Blood
Raquel Rodriguez made her WWE return at Bad Blood.
The latest installment in the rivalry between Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley ended in complete chaos at Bad Blood.
With Dominik Mysterio suspended from the rafters in a shark cage, Ripley and Morgan went to war over the Women’s World Title. During the match, Mysterio broke free and almost fell from the cage, but ended up hanging upside down unable to move.
Sensing a chance for revenge, Ripley told the referee she was going to go after Mysterio, and the official turned a blind eye. While hitting Mysterio with a kendo stick, Ripley was attacked from behind by the returning Raquel Rodriguez.
In the midst of the madness, Morgan was disqualified, meaning she walked away with her title.
Raquel Rodriguez hadn’t been seen on WWE television since February. In fact, the former NXT Women’s Champion has wrestled just three times since December 3rd, 2023 after being diagnosed with Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS).
The illness caused Rodriguez to miss the first part of the year although she made a brief return around Elimination Chamber.
Late Change Made At WWE Bad Blood
There seemed a great deal of confusion around the end of the match after the referee called for the bell following the attack by Rodriguez. Despite the match being over, Rodriguez still placed Morgan over Ripley after hitting her with a Tejana Bomb.
According to a report from Fightful Select, the confusion arose because things didn’t play out exactly as planned. The report noted “It was implied that the original finish to Rhea vs. Liv was Liv winning with Raquel’s help. However, the referee couldn’t justify not doing a DQ finish as he saw everything unfold.”
