Lana Signs New WWE Deal As Rusev Returns
Rusev made his shock return to WWE and now it seems that his wife, best known as Lana, has also inked her own deal with the company.
On Raw in Las Vegas, the new World Tag Team Champions, The New Day, were getting ready for an impromptu match against Alpha Academy after a fair bit of goading from Maxxine Dupri. However, that match never got started as the lights went out.
When they came back on, Rusev appeared with new music, and as The New Day bailed from the ring, the former WWE US Champion viciously assaulted Otis and Akira Tozawa.
Rusev’s return to WWE comes a few short months after he was released from AEW as Tony Khan got rid of several wantaway stars including Rey Fenix and Ricky Saints. Another of those stars let go, Malakai Black, is widely expected to be back in WWE as soon as SmackDown on April 25.
Lana Signs WWE Legends Deal
Questions had been asked if Rusev’s wife, CJ Perry – known in WWE as Lana – was also returning to the company. PWInsider has reported that Lana has signed a deal with WWE, but that deal is a Legends contract which means she’s unlikely to return to TV as things stand. Deadline has reported that Rusev’s deal with WWE is for two years.
