Lacey Evans has claimed that she took a paycut upon joining WWE in 2016.

The former number one contender for the Raw Women’s Championship departed WWE in August after seven years with the company. Evans has since gone on to launch an exclusive content website, where fans can enjoy a different side of the Superstar for a monthly subscription fee.

In a recent discussion with Mandy Rose and Tino Sabbatelli on Power Alphas, Evans explained that she actually saw a reduction in monthly income after joining WWE’s developmental brand in April 2016, highlighting a successful army career and an already established property portfolio:

“I’ve got to be making moves. If you don’t see me as the top guy, and you have the ability to make that choice, let me go because I know where I’m a top guy. I know where I thrive the most. I’m a thriver. I have to go.

I took a pay cut to even be in WWE, which is wild. I’m thinking I could use my platform, that hustler mentality, I want to help people. So much so that, that was my main goal in WWE. I’m an alpha and I want to be able to tell my story, use my story, and help people. I know what I’ve accomplished already.

Before I even joined WWE, I had multiple properties, 18 acres, my family is set up, I have a military career, I run a construction company, but I don’t have the platform that I could help human beings in a shit ass situation.

That was my main goal. I didn’t see myself holding a title up because that doesn’t make me feel accomplished”.

Lacey Evans Comments Almost Caused Fights Backstage

Evans also revealed recently that her outspoken nature behind the scenes would lead to friction and on occasions almost caused backstage fights.
