WWE Hall Of Famer Calls For LA Knight To Get Major Push
According to a Hall of Famer, LA Knight needs to “lobby” for more success in WWE.
In just under two weeks, LA Knight will compete for a championship contract as part of the Men’s Money In The Bank Ladder Match.
Fan support has been growing for the former Million Dollar Champion over recent months, and expectation is high that he could walk out of London with the branded briefcase. His popularity has not gone unnoticed by a former World Heavyweight Champion who wants to see Knight get given a huge push.
Mark Henry lifted Three Championships during a WWE career that saw him inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2018.
The one-time ECW and European Champion retired in 2017 and has since worked backstage in WWE before joining AEW as a coach and commentator in 2021.
The strongman co-hosts Busted Open Radio with a fellow Hall of Famer Bubba Ray Dudley (aka Bully Ray) and they talk about the current wrestling scene. During the show, Henry shared his concern that WWE bosses might not go all in on LA Knight after seeing first hand several Superstars’ popularity ignored.
“It sucks, man, that there have been times, and Bully can attest to that, that somebody gets over naturally and organically, and then they say, ‘Well he’s already getting over, let’s do something with somebody else,’ rather than pile it on that guy. Pour the gasoline on the fire!”
“The squeaky wheel gets the oil. Say something. ‘Will y’all do something with me, please? I’m busting my ass, I’m getting over.'”
Sexual Chocolate would go on to share his own experiences of pushing for more opportunities outside of the ring, to keep active when not being used on TV.
Henry explained that he asked to make media and charity related appearances, and feels The Megastar LA Knight would benefit by doing the same.
“I don’t know if LA Knight is doing that. You gotta lobby for yourself.”
“And if they say no, then you know what the deal is. When your contract comes up, don’t try to renew.”
