LA Knight has revealed details behind a recent car accident whilst en-route to a WWE Live Event.

The former WWE United States Champion was making his way to the CFG Bank Arena in Baltimore, Maryland for the latest leg of the WWE Live Holiday Tour when an unfortunate road traffic incident threatened to delay his arrival.

The popular 42 year-old star would not be deterred, however, and made it to the arena in time to taste victory over Santos Escobar in the evening’s opening contest. The man previously known as Max Dupri is attempting to regain momentum after losing the United States Championship to Shinsuke Nakamura at Survivor Series 2024.

Knight opened up about the incident to those in attendance ahead of the bout, explaining that his rental car had been backed into:

“It wasn’t an easy road down here. I’ll tell ya why. Earlier today, driving down I-70, got in a little fender bender. Someone decided to back into my car. Yeah, that’s what I said: ‘Boo!’

So I call up the rental company and I say ‘Hey, we got nothing to worry about here, but I got into a little fender bender, so I just wanted to let you know.’ He said ‘Well can you say there at the scene?’ I said ‘NAH! You don’t understand! I got to get to Baltimore!’

He said ‘Okay sir, did you get any pictures?’ I said ‘YEAH!’ I said, ‘I’m on my way right now.’ He said, ‘Sir, what are you in such a hurry to get to Baltimore for?’ I said ‘Well, as soon as I walk in the building, some dummy…’ He said, ‘Dummy?’ I said, ‘YEAH!’ I said, ‘Some dummy’s gonna walk down here and he’s gonna need to get stomped out!”.

LA Knight Claims Major Match Was ‘Business As Usual’

LA Knight has proven to be one of WWE’s most popular Superstars since reverting back to the persona in September 2022 after spending nine months portraying the villainous talent agent Max Dupri, a gimmick that failed to capture the imagination of WWE fans.

The former Impact Wrestling World Champion made his long awaited WrestleMania debut at Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field on 7th April 2024, defeating AJ Styles in a critically acclaimed bout.

Knight has since played down the magnitude of the bout with Styles at WrestleMania XL, however, insisting the match was simply another outing in the squared circle.
