LA Knight Allegedly Has Backstage Heat In WWE For Major Reason
LA Knight might not be the most popular superstar backstage in WWE.
While The Megastar is arguably one of the most popular competitors in the Stamford-based company today, his booking has raised many questions among fans and experts.
Many expected the 42-year-old to win the Money in the Bank match. However, Seth Rollins was the one who captured the briefcase after Bron Breakker speared Knight outside the ring.
WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H addressed Knight’s status at the post-show press conference, stating that “Great things come to those who wait.”
While former WWE head writer Vince Russo previously disclosed that he was told The Game disliked The Megastar, wrestling veteran Disco Inferno pointed out on the Keepin’ It 100 podcast that he knows several WWE agents get frustrated with the former United States Champion.
The ex-WCW star explained that LA Knight “goes out there and does the indie stuff so many times,” which does not sit well with the agents.
Bro, I know that, like, a lot of the agents, they get frustrated with this guy because he goes out there and does, like, the indie stuff too many times. You know what I’m saying?
It’s like the guy is, like, got top guy potential but doesn’t wanna do the top guy things enough. You know, instead, he tries to do his own. You know what I’m saying? It’s like one of those.
Disco Inferno thinks WWE cannot bury LA Knight
Despite what he explained, Disco Inferno emphasized that LA Knight continues to be over with the WWE Universe despite how he is being booked.
The wrestling veteran claimed the former United States Champion cannot get buried because he excels in mic work. Inferno added that he believes Knight is in a good spot for a 42-year-old superstar.
But he’s still super over. Like the guy’s getting over despite what they give him. And, bro, the guy still constantly gets his shtick in. They’re giving the guy mic work every week. So, he’s fine.
He can easily get in a program with somebody. He’ll never get buried unless they just beat him like a drum. But you can’t beat him like a drum because he’s too good on the mic. You know what I’m saying? For a 42-year-old guy, he’s in actually a pretty good spot right now. [1:51 onwards]
LA Knight is currently involved in a feud with Seth Rollins’ faction. After The Megastar cost Bron Breakker his King of the Ring first-round qualifier on RAW, the former Intercontinental Champion and Bronson Reed returned the favor last Friday on SmackDown.
