Kyle Fletcher Responds To Criticism From Ex-WWE Star

AEW star Kyle Fletcher makes his entrance.

Kyle Fletcher has issued a form response after coming in for heavy criticism.

Beginning in late 2024, Kyle Fletcher has enjoyed a remarkable rise through the AEW ranks. Although he arrived as a tag team star, with his partner, Mark Davis, out injured, Fletcher was forced to go it alone.

After working to find his footing, the Aussie star has now established himself as a major attraction and genuine main event star.

However, not everyone has been impressed.

In a recent video on social media, Stevie Richards suggested that Kyle Fletcher needs more seasoning and lacks psychology. He added that he “looked like an eventual NXT Superstar.”

Kyle Fletcher Hits Back

During an appearance on The Ringer Wrestling Show, Fletcher was asked about the comments from Richards, and he delivered a firm but measured response. The TNT Champion began by saying that he understands there’ll always be criticism in the industry, and that’s something he welcomes.

“I think a lot of people on Twitter or whatever will just look at the one clip that gets posted. I went and I watched the full thing, everything that he said. Look, I’m not going to — I’m open to any and all critiques. That is fine. I’m in a world where it’s like, everyone is allowed to have an opinion. He has an opinion on who I am and what I am as a wrestler, and that’s fine.”

Fletcher went on to explain that while he doesn’t have a problem with criticism, he felt that the comments from Richards weren’t in good faith. He added that suggestions that he has no one to learn from in AEW are “horsesh*t.”

“It just doesn’t feel like it’s in good faith, if that makes sense. I think a lot of those guys, they just kind of look for the buzzwords and look for the things that are going to get clicks or whatever. I don’t think he spoke a lot about, like, what the culture is at AEW. I don’t think he knows anything about the culture at AEW.

He said there’s no one there for me to learn from. I think that’s absolute f*cking horsesh*t, you know what I mean? I am learning from people every single day that I’m there. There’s so many great minds there. There’s Bryan Danielson there almost every week.

I mean, I’m open to criticism. I just don’t think it was in the best faith. But no ill will. I’m open to critique at any and all times. I’m 26 years old. I’m still trying to learn this business, man. I have a lot more room to grow, for sure.”

At All Out, Kyle Fletcher is set to challenge for the AEW World Championship for the first time when he meets “Hangman” Adam Page. Unfortunately for Fletcher, all members of the Don Callis Family have been banned from ringside.

Wardlow had originally been scheduled to be part of that storyline, but he recently suffered a torn pec.
