Kurt Angle Claims WWE “Are Not Doing Right” To Robert Roode
Kurt Angle has claimed that former NXT Champion Robert Roode is the most underutilised competitor in WWE, and feels the company need to do more for him.
Robert Roode and Kurt Angle had a storied career facing off against each other in IMPACT Wrestling. The pair had a bout at Bound For Glory where Angle retained the World Championship, only for Roode to then turn on long-time friend and Beer Money Inc tag team partner James Storm. As ‘The IT Factor’ would go on to have an extended run with the title.
Heading to WWE in 2016, Robert Roode found further success as NXT Champion, and became one of the figures most synonymous with the first black and gold era for his ‘Glorious’ entrance.
In a discussion on his Kurt Angle Show, the Olympic gold medallist discussed how Roode has far more to offer WWE than he has had the opportunity to do at present, and feels they need to do more for him.
Bobby Roode is the most underrated wrestler … there. They are not doing right by Bobby. He is so talented. He, I have to say, for me working with, you know, I’ve worked with thousands of talent. Bobby is in my top ten. Definitely is in my top ten.
It would seem that, whilst the rest of his run on the main roster could be seen as mediocre except for a brief run as SmackDown Tag Team Champion alongside Dolph Ziggler, the fact Robert Roode hasn’t been featured in recent months is due to injury.
