Kurt Angle Wants WWE Star To Get “The Push He Deserves”
Kurt Angle opened up about a storied rival, saying he hopes he gets the push he deserves before he hangs up his wrestling boots.
Kurt Angle and Bobby Roode have both spent decades in the business of professional wrestling, and the two men have a storied history dating back to their time together in TNA. Roode joined WWE in 2016, and he found some success, capturing the NXT Championship, the United States Championship, and both the Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Championships.
However, Roode hasn’t been heavily featured in recent years, and hasn’t been seen on WWE television since taking part in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal on April 1st, 2022. He last wrestled on a WWE live event in June of 2022, and underwent neck fusion surgery in December. Understandably, the star is set to remain out of action for quite some time, and it remains to be seen what the future holds for him in terms of a return to the ring.
During a recent Q&A episode of The Kurt Angle Show, Angle was asked about Roode’s career in WWE, and the Hall of Famer said he believes Roode hasn’t been given a fair chance in the sports entertainment giant. Angle added that Roode being 47 years old doesn’t help his chances of a major push in the company, but he hopes the glorious one will get a chance before he hangs up his boots.
“They haven’t given him a chance yet. He was good in NXT. He was being pushed and utilized properly, not in WWE. Unfortunately for Bobby, I don’t know if they’re ever going to do it. That’s what really sucks. Bobby’s at the age now, I think he’s like, what, mid-40s, yeah. I don’t know if he can wrestle much longer, but I hope they do give him the push he deserves.”
