Kurt Angle Unsure How MJF Would Hold Up In An Iron Man Match

There might be an Iron Man Match coming to AEW and Kurt Angle has commented about how he’s unsure about how MJF will do in it.

The AEW World Champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) has been issued a challenge for the AEW World Title. Bryan Danielson wants to face MJF in a 60-minute Iron Man Match for the AEW World Title at the Revolution pay-per-view on March 5th, but MJF has made Bryan jump through hoops a bit in his own way.

During their promo exchange on the January 4th edition of AEW Dynamite, MJF told Bryan he had to win every match he has on Dynamite for the next month in order to get the Iron Man Match. Bryan agreed to it.

Danielson went on to defeat Konosuke Takeshita on January 11th and this past week on AEW Dynamite, Danielson beat Bandido as well. Both matches were critically acclaimed just like most of Bryan’s matches are.

On a recent episode of his Kurt Angle Show podcast, the WWE & TNA/Impact Hall of Famer Angle reacted to the news of the potential match with some doubt expressed towards MJF.

“Wow, that’s gonna be good. I don’t know how MJF is gonna hold up, but I know Daniel Bryan will do pretty well.”

The reason Angle may have said that about MJF is because MJF rarely wrestles on AEW TV even though he’s only 26 years old, which is relatively young in pro wrestling. MJF is also the youngest AEW World Champion ever.

Angle went on to praise Bryan Danielson’s career as a wrestler by recalling when they were part of the WWE Greatest Royal Rumble match in 2018.

“Bryan and I planned it out backstage. That was the one thing when he came in; we wanted to do something special. So Daniel actually came up with it, and it was a great little spot. I enjoyed working with him. Man, he is so talented. He’s not just an incredible high flyer, he’s a great technician, too. Daniel Bryan could be one of the best overall workers in the business today.”

For his part, MJF posted a workout video saying he sees it and hears it all.
