Kurt Angle Says WWE Star Is “Like My Son”
Kurt Angle thinks a WWE Raw star is a “very talented kid.”
After an impressive time with TNA Wrestling, Kurt Angle returned to WWE in 2017 where he was inducted into the Hall of Fame. This led to a return to television on a regular basis as the Raw General Manager before he finally got back in the ring.
Angle eventually hung up his boots after several matches on Raw and a retirement match against Baron Corbin at WrestleMania 35.
Since then, Angle has continued to make appearances on television, and it seems he’s been keeping an eye on one star in particular.
Kurt Angle Full Of Praise For Former Opponent
During an interview with Chris Van Vliet, Angle reflected on his incredible career and his final WWE up to his retirement.
In the weeks before WrestleMania, Angle wrestled and defeated Chad Gable on Raw. While looking back at that match, Angle heavily praised Gable, suggesting he has the ability to be a World Champion.
“Chad made me look good. He did. Chad’s Chad’s incredible. He’s a very talented kid, and I’m just glad that they’re utilizing them properly because I know he’s undersized a little bit. They didn’t know what to do with them. But this kid could be a world champion and be very marketable.
I mean, especially with the gimmick he has right now, with the whole USA thing, and ‘You Suck’ and everything where, he’s like, my son. He should have been, yeah, exactly. But Vince McMahon had other ideas, having Jason Jordan be my son, which was ridiculous because, you know, that was cool.”
During the same interview, Kurt Angle admitted he regretted wrestling as long as he did, revealing he wished he would have retired years earlier. While reflecting on his career, Angle said he wished he would have returned to WWE in 2009 to have a retirement run.
Angle said that by the time he began his retirement tour, he “looked like an old man,” and he ultimately retired as he could feel he’d “lost a step.”
