Kurt Angle Names Favorite WWE Match He Wasn’t In
Kurt Angle has given his pick for his favorite WWE match that he wasn’t a part of.
It seems like every wrestler gets asked the same questions in interviews when they are asked about their favorite matches. If you have followed pro wrestling for long enough, you know what match many of them are going to pick, so it isn’t as informative as the interviewer might think.
In Kurt Angle’s case, he has been in the public eye of pro wrestling for nearly 25 years, he has wrestled some of the biggest names in the history of the business and he’s a podcaster in retirement from wrestling, so that means he needs things to talk about.
Kurt Angle is regarded by many to be one of the greatest in-ring performers in WWE history even though he only spent about seven years as a full-timer in WWE before moving on to TNA. When Angle came back to WWE over a decade after leaving, his body just wasn’t the same in terms of being able to put on those same great matches.
During his WWE run, Kurt Angle had some incredible matches with the likes of Shawn Michaels, Edge, The Rock, Steve Austin, Rey Mysterio, John Cena and many others.
On a recent episode of the Kurt Angle Show podcast, the WWE Hall of Famer Angle was asked about his favorite WWE match that he wasn’t involved in. Angle picked a match from WrestleMania 20 in 2004.
“Okay, hands down. WrestleMania 20 Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels vs Chris Benoit, best Triple Threat I ever saw in my life. Me and Eddie had a banger of a match at night, and that Triple Threat blew us out of the water. I was so pissed off, I was so jealous. I was like son of a bitch. Man, they stole the show. And Eddie and I had a banger. I mean, we really had a great match.”
That WrestleMania 20 main event ended with Chris Benoit tapping out Triple H to win the World Heavyweight Title in the main event.
