Kris Statlander Lays Down Challenge To Male AEW Star
Kris Statlander put out an interesting challenge after WrestleDream.
At WrestleDream, Kris Statlander fought off the brave challenge of “Timeless” Toni Storm to retain the AEW Women’s World Championship. Statlander claimed the title at All Out in a four-way match, de-throning Storm in the process.
After beating Storm in singles action, Statlander’s celebration was interrupted by Mercedes Mone, who told her to leave the ring. Mone then beat Mina Shirakwara to become ROH Interim Women’s TV Champion. But Statlander hadn’t forgotten the earlier slight, and she confronted Mone, taking her out with a huge Samoan Drop.
Later in the show, it was confirmed that Mone will challenge Statlander for the Women’s World Championship at Full Gear.
Kris Statlander Ready For The Death Riders
During the post-WrestleDream media scrum, Statlander was asked to name a potential who might not obviously spring to mind. As her beef with the Death Riders continues, Statlander said she’d be up for facing Marina Shafir, although Wheeler Yuta isn’t safe either.
“Well, I feel like it could be anybody at this point, but I think someone who probably thinks they deserve it and a lot of people… in relation to her, that wanna see her take me out is probably Marina (Shafir).
I feel like, possibly, Death Riders… they might not be too keen on me right now, and if they need me to put her in her place, they will, and also, if Wheeler Yuta wants to step up and challenge for this, I will put him in his place right the same, so whoever’s brave enough.
I’m open to any and all challenges. I am open to giving anyone a shot who is worthy, and I think if you are here and you are putting your best foot forward, you are worthy. So, whoever wants to step up…”
Elsewhere on the show, there were big wins for Darby Allin, “Hangman” Adam Page, Jamie Hayter, Kyle Fletcher among others.
