Kris Statlander Challenged To AEW WrestleDream Title Match

Kris Statlander will meet a familiar face at WrestleDream when she puts her AEW Women’s World Title on the line.

It’s been the biggest few weeks in the career of Kris Statlander. At All Out, Statlander shocked everyone when she defeated Toni Storm to win the AEW Women’s World Title for the first time in her career.

Following that epic victory, Kris Statlander gave an emphatic answer to Jon Moxley and the Death Riders as she rejected their advances to join their villainous group.

Now, on the sixth anniversary of Dynamite, Statlander accepted a challenge for a title match at WrestleDream.

Kris Statlander Accepts Toni Storm’s Challenge

Toni Storm picked up a win over Tay Melo on that landmark show, and immediately afterwards, she laid down a challenge to Statlander for a title bout at the next AEW pay-per-view. The night’s main event saw Statlander team with Darby Allin to defeat the Death Riders’ Marina Shafir and Wheeler Yuta. After picking up that victory, Statlander happily accepted Storm’s challenge.

WrestleDream will also see Hangman Adam Page defend his AEW Men’s World Championship against Samoa Joe after their brief partnership on Dynamite descended into a fight.

Jon Moxley and Darby Allin will look to end each other once and for all when they clash in an I Quit match on October 18th in St. Louis.
