Why Kofi Kingston Was Disappointed With WWE Raw Appearance
Kofi Kingston thinks fans should just hear him out.
On what should have been a night of celebration, Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston blew apart The New Day on the December 2nd edition of Raw.
The pair lambasted the returning Big E accusing him of turning his back on them, and not trying hard enough to return after breaking his neck.
The duo again appeared on Raw a week later with boos cascading down from the stands. Woods and Kingston said they hadn’t even done anything to E, questioning why fans were angry after “one night” following ten years of positivity. The former tag team champions attempted to keep talking but they were drowned out by fans.
Unable to get their point across, they dropped their mics and left.
Kofi Kingston Was Left Disappointed
In a post on social media, Kingston hit out at fans for not letting him and Woods speak, adding that if they had, they’d have changed their minds.
I’m still so incredibly disappointed in the people of Wichita, Kansas for not letting us speak. I’m also disappointed in the WWE Universe for your lack of sympathy on social media platforms. I really think that if you’d just hear us out, you’d change your minds.
Following the explosive break-up of the group, it was reported WWE had been forced to change its original plans for the New Day.
According to the report, when Odyssey Jones joined the group in August he was supposed to be the catalyst for the split. This would have seen Woods and Kingston turn heel by publicly endorsing him as Big E’s replacement.
However, Odyssey Jones was fired by WWE in early September after allegations of domestic abuse emerged online. Although there was no official comment from the company, Jones was removed from television with all creative plans dropped.
