Killer Kross On Ex-WWE Champion: “I Despise Him As A Human Being”

Killer Cross made a major statement about wrestling colleague, former WWE star Matt Cardona, in a recent interview.

Killer Cross (Known as Karion Kross during his run in WWE) had a viral moment recently in the independent wrestling promotion GCW’s Dream On show. He wore a Kane mask and chokeslammed Cardona.

For context, Matt Cardona wrestled under the ring name Zack Ryder during his time in WWE in the 2010s, where he notably held the WWE Intercontinental and United States Championships. In 2011-2012, Cardona was caught in the crossfire when WWE legend Kane was feuding with John Cena. Cardona was subjected to constant attacks from Kane during the storyline, even leading to a shocking moment where Kane rolled a crippled Cardona off the stage in a wheelchair.

Kross is well aware of the time Kane traumatized Cardona in WWE and took advantage of the grand occasion of Dream On in GCW to taunt him by wearing a Kane mask and planting him with a chokeslam in the middle of the ring.

Former WWE star Karion/Killer Kross Says He Despises Cardona As A Human Being

Speaking to ‘The Complete’, despite despising Cardona as a person, Kross praised his professionalism and gave his honest take on him, praising Cardona’s rich history in WWE as Zack Ryder.

Matt Cardona has such a rich history. As much as I despise him as a human being, I respect him immensely as a professional. You cannot overlook the fact that Kane terrorized him. It was one of the most entertaining periods of his career. I just thought, on a GCW show in a unique venue like that, where we’re in a mall and there’s thousands of people walking by the ring all day, and then there’s people who purchase tickets that are there.

Kross made sure to do his homework and was keen on doing something different and unique to each wrestler, and decided to use Kane’s angle from Cardona’s WWE career to produce a memorable moment.

Everything that’s going to be on the show, I look at the card from the top to bottom. I know everybody’s stuff. I watch the products. What are they going to do? What’s the one thing that I can do differently that people are going to remember. Well, I can traumatize Matt Cardona with a Kane mask, and I don’t think anyone else has done that.
