Key WWE Figure Returns Backstage

Triple H Ari Emanuel WWE TKO

An important WWE figure is back.

Back in mid-November, it was reported that Michaels Hayes and Bruce Prichard were on an indefinite WWE hiatus. Prichard has a lengthy relationship with the McMahon family and worked closely with Vince McMahon for several years, speaking up in support of his former boss in the controversial “Mr. McMahon” documentary.

In more recent times the man formerly known as Brother Love operates under Triple H but above the writing team in the backstage chain of command.

As it turned out, Hayes’ absence was relatively brief and he was back at work on November 22nd for a double SmackDown taping.

Michael Hayes has been with WWE since 1995 following the end of his in-ring career. Although he initially worked as an on-screen character in more recent years he’s been heavily involved in producing The Bloodine’s segments and working as an agent for Roman Reigns’ matches. Hayes has a close association with the Anoa’i family going back to the 1970s.

By contrast, Prichard has remained away from the company, but according to a new report, he’ll soon be back at work.

Bruce Prichard To Make WWE Return

As reported by Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Prichard is expected back very soon and could be in attendance for SmackDown on January 3rd. The episode marks a new era for the show as it expands to three hours for the first time.

Back in November, Prichard’s podcast co-host and friend noted:

” Bruce Prichard is still with WWE. Bruce Prichard is not quitting his podcast, but if you’re a longtime listener of this show, you know that there have been health events in the Prichard family and household and right now, Bruce is going to take a little bit of a leave of absence from WWE, and he’s going to be away, taking care of what’s really important.” (H/t PWInsider).

On SmackDown, Nia Jax is set to defend the Women’s Title against Naomi, while United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura squares off against Andrade in a non-title match.
