Kevin Owens Slams “Psychopaths” WWE Stars for Backstage Antics

Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens is not one to mince words.

One of the things that the Canadian wrestler is known for is his unapologetic in-ring promos.

He has had instances where he has confronted fans, critics, or spoken candidly about his peers.

Owens has been on a hiatus since April 2025, after revealing his struggles with a neck injury and that he would be undergoing surgery.

The Prizefighter recently appeared on Cody Rhodes’ What Do You Wanna Talk About? podcast, where he sarcastically referred to his WWE peers as “psychopaths.”

This part of the chat highlighted his civic sense, if not his high maintenance.

The former Universal Champion shared that he did not like Matt Cardona’s and Bron Breakker’s fake tans, citing them as being used excessively, and that the latter “should be arrested.”

In addition, he mentioned the issue of the tan rubbing off on other wrestlers, which he is not a fan of.

Owens also bluntly spoke about the backstage antics of his peers.

You know what I hate the most is when I go in the locker room, try to go to the restroom before a match, I’m walking, the layer of fake tanner on the ground.

What about the guys who go trim their beards or their armpits in front of the mirror before the show and just leave the hair there? Psychopaths! [37:37 onwards]

Kevin Owens to Undergo Neck Surgery Mid-July

Kevin Owens also shared that he will undergo surgery on his neck in mid-July, while expressing frustrations surrounding the process.

It’s been such a frustrating process, we’re letting my spinal cord heal as much as it can on its own before we go in for the surgery because how extensive the surgery will be depends on how my spinal cord looks when we go in there…

…We’re waiting until mid-July to do the surgery hopefully its a normal neck fusion, it might not be, we don’t know. So since then I’ve felt fine, my neck’s been fine I’m not in pain.

Owens was scheduled to fight Randy Orton at WrestleMania 41, but his injury prevented that from happening. TNA’s Joe Hendry ultimately replaced him.
