Kevin Owens “Okay” Following Injury Scare
Kevin Owens is on top of the world having recently main evented his second WrestleMania in a row and capturing the WWE Tag Team Championship with Sami Zayn but things threatened to take a recent turn for the worst for the star.
Owens was recently part of a tag team match against The Usos on a WWE live event that had many fans concerned that he had suffered an injury.
Writing on the Wrestling Observer’s Daily Update, Dave Meltzer commented on Owen’s condition following that match:
“Kevin Owens appeared to injure his ankle last night in Fort Wayne, IN. It came during an Owens & Sami Zayn vs. Usos tag team title match.
“We’re not sure where but multiple people brought up that it was hurt during the match, he was limping and needed help to the back.
“He did come back, still limping, for the Cody Rhodes vs Solo Sikoa main event. We’ve heard nothing official on whether it was storyline or legit at this point. We’ll probably know if it’s serious based on if he works in Toledo tonight.”
However, things seem to be fine for Owens with Meltzer following up on Wrestling Observer Radio following that show in Toledo:
“He worked tonight in Toledo, so he’s okay. He hurt it last night in Fort Wayne, but he’s okay.
“Like I said, he wrestled tonight, he did a run-in tonight, so good enough (for that). And he was not limping at the show tonight as far as I know. So he’s good to go probably for Friday’s tag team title match on SmackDown.”
On SmackDown, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn will re-run their WrestleMania 39 main event when they put the WWE Tag Team Championship on the line against The Usos.
