Kevin Owens Mocks Cody Rhodes’ AEW Run
Kevin Owens is never going to stop.
At Saturday Night’s Main Event, Cody Rhodes successfully defended the Undisputed WWE Championship against Kevin Owens. But that was only part of the story.
After the match, Owens attacked Rhodes and laid him out with a Package Piledriver. As a result, Rhodes was stretchered out of the arena, and Owens celebrated with the legendary Winged Eagle World Championship belt Rhodes had entered with.
As he headed backstage, Owens clashed with Triple H and later declared himself the “True World Champion” with Rhodes beaten down.
Kevin Owens Tried To Help Fans In Jacksonville, Florida
During WWE’s live event in Jacksonville, Florida on December 26th, Kevin Owens faced Cody Rhodes in the main event inside a steel cage. Ahead of the match, Owens made sure to throw some shade at Rhodes in a promo for the live crowd by referencing his time in AEW.
“Listen, I understand that Jacksonville suffered a lot of trauma because of Cody Rhodes because for many years, you guys had to put up with him, put up with him for almost every week. So I will do my best to help you heal by beating the hell out of Cody Rhodes.”
Rhodes was one of the ‘founding fathers’ of AEW having played a significant role in its creation in 2019 before ultimately returning to WWE in 2022.
At the same event, Jimmy Uso returned to the ring after suffering a broken toe at Survivor Series. Jimmy teamed with his brother Jey to take on Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu, although the multi-time World Tag Team Champions were unsuccessful.
