Kevin Owens Looks Back On Very Special WWE Anniversary
Kevin Owens has had a remarkable career since answering John Cena’s open challenge in 2015.
Currently, The Prizefighter is out of in-ring action owing to a neck injury. Kevin Owens backed out from a singles match against Randy Orton at WrestleMania 41 after announcing the problems he has been dealing with. He will require neck surgery, but an update reveals Kevin Owens is yet to have the surgery.
While he is away from the squared circle, the legacy he has created in WWE lives on.
Kevin Owens speaks fondly of his main roster debut against John Cena
KO made his main roster debut on May 18, 2015 by answering John Cena’s open challenge for the United States Championship. He was the reigning NXT Champion at that point, and executed a Pop-Up Powerbomb on The Franchise Player to exert his dominance.
WWE set up a singles match for the duo at Elimination Chamber on May 31, 2015. Owens secured a clean victory over The Champ, marking his first PPV win.
He spoke fondly of his main roster debut on WWE RAW, and revealed that night changed his life forever.
“This morning I was reminded that ten years ago today, I showed up on RAW for the first time to answer John Cena’s open challenge. And that night changed my life forever, changed my career. To say an unbelievable ride would be an understatement.”
Currently, there is no timeline for Kevin Owens’ return to the ring. Ideally, a neck injury requires at least six months to heal, and his condition seems to be more complicated than anticipated. It is possible he will need much longer than six months to make a full recovery.
