Kevin Owens Shares Encouraging Video Following Major Neck Surgery

Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens shared a video of himself at the WWE Performance Center.

The last match that former WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens had in a WWE ring was at the Elimination Chamber PLE against Sami Zayn on March 1st. The two Canadians put on an incredible match in Toronto that many people will remember as one of WWE’s best matches of the year.

What we didn’t know about the match between Owens and Zayn was that Owens was dealing with a serious neck injury that worsened in early 2025. Owens was scheduled to face Randy Orton at WrestleMania 41, but the match was called off when Owens told the world that he needed neck surgery.

It was reported that Kevin Owens had neck surgery on July 18th. While no timeline has been given for when he might be able to return to the ring, many wrestlers in the past who have had neck surgeries have missed up to a year of action. However, every person and situation is different.

Kevin Owens recently made headlines when he was photographed with WWE legend Chris Jericho at a Tampa Bay Lightning NHL game. Owens and Jericho have a long history as “best friends” and rivals since the mid-2010s. There are also rumors that Jericho is leaving AEW to return to WWE in 2026, so seeing Jericho with Owens got people excited, with good reason.

Kevin Owens Is Running At The WWE Performance Center

In a 10-second video posted on his X/Twitter account, Kevin Owens can be seen running at the WWE Performance Center. It’s an encouraging sign considering he had major neck surgery less than four months earlier.

There isn’t much to the video other than Owens running back and forth as his theme music played. It also ends with a shot of a cat, likely from his home.

On Halloween, Kevin Owens also posted photos on social media with a Happy Anniversary message for his wife, Karina. The couple has a son and a daughter together.

In the message, Owens appears as if he has lost weight, which is understandable following a major surgery on his neck.

After the surgery, Kevin Owens said that his surgery was the best-case scenario.

“Yeah, so it’s a neck surgery. I needed neck fusion. It was very stressful going into it, because we weren’t really sure how severe the fusion was going to be, how many levels, all this stuff. Thankfully, ended up only being one level, which is the best-case scenario for something like this.

The surgery was successful. I had a great doctor. The thing is, now we have to see how the bones fuse, and there’s no guarantee that it’s going to work. You know, how my body heals. And we’ll see. Some guys had success, some guys didn’t.

Fingers crossed, I can come back to wrestling in the next year. Really don’t know, though, but yeah, my goal is to come back. So hopefully that’s what happens.”

We wish Kevin Owens the best in his recovery from neck surgery and look forward to his WWE return whenever that happens in 2026.
