Kevin Owens Wants To Form Tag Team With Retired WWE Star

Kevin Owens leans on ropes

Kevin Owens has competed primarily as a singles wrestler in WWE.

This is evidenced by his holding the Tag Team Championships only once, in 2023, with Sami Zayn.

However, the duo held the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships, unifying the RAW and SmackDown Tag Team titles.

Kevin Owens discussed a wide range of topics recently on Cody Rhodes’ podcast, What Do You Wanna Talk About?

He also brought up his desire to team up with a retired WWE star.

That wrestler is none other than Jamie Noble.

Speaking about it, Owens said:

I’ve tried to be tag team with him (Noble) on television for years. The closest we came was when I punched (Jason) Waller and (Austin) Theory in the face at the same time. Jamie was part of it, and I was like, “That’s it. This is our debut.” [1:00:18 onwards]

Notably, Noble officially retired from in-ring competition in 2009 due to a severe back injury, but he wrestled once in 2022, marking the end of his professional wrestling career.

Kevin Owens’ Rich History In The Tag Team Division

During his stint in WWE, Kevin Owens has partnered with notable names.

He teamed with Sami Zayn the most, even winning the Undisputed Tag Team Championships in 2023.

His run with veteran Chris Jericho as the “Best Friends” duo is popular, too. While Owens was usually the muscle, Jericho was the comic relief with his “List of Jericho” segments.

Before entering into a feud with Randy Orton, Owens allied with him in 2024 against The Bloodline, led by Roman Reigns.

Owens is currently on a hiatus due to a neck injury and is expected to undergo surgery in mid-July.
