Kevin Owens Breaks Silence On Sami Zayn’s Title Win

WWE star Kevin Owens

How are things between Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens? It’s complicated.

On the August 29 edition of SmackDown, Sami Zayn beat Solo Sikoa in stunning style to win the United States Championship. The win marks the first time that Zayn has captured the title, and the first time he’s held championship gold since the summer of 2024.

Against Sikoa, Zayn’s never-say-die attitude came to the fore once again as he refused to take a backward step opposite the much stronger man. In the end, he claimed a popular victory thanks to two Helluva Kicks.

Reacting to the news on social media, Owens agreed that Zayn is one of the best. Or at least he thinks so; he might still hate him. But Zayn’s definitely the best.

One of the best indeed…

Top 1, in my opinion.

I still hate him though.

Or maybe not. I don’t know, it’s hard to remember. Depends on the day, I guess. We’ll see what happens.

One thing I do know for sure is that he’s the best.

Kevin Owens’ In-Ring Future Remains Uncertain

While he’s still trying to work out how to feel about Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens has again admitted there’s a chance he’ll never wrestle again.

During a recent interview, Owens confirmed that while his surgery went well and was the best he could hope for given the circumstances, what comes next remains a mystery. He reiterated that he’d love to wrestle again in 2026, but it all depends on how his neck heals.

Owens added that some people recover well and get to resume their careers, while others don’t.

It was reported back in July that Kevin Owens had undergone successful surgery, and the next phase of his recovery was underway.
