Kevin Nash Shares Why The Kliq Had Heat With A Wrestling Legend Over Travel

WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash shed light on the strained relationship between The Kliq—a controversial backstage group—and the late wrestling icon Bam Bam Bigelow.

Speaking on his Kliq This podcast, Kevin Nash discussed how Bigelow took issue with The Kliq’s defiance of wrestling traditions, particularly their disregard for kayfabe.

Bam Bam did not like us. When we got back from Europe, Bigelow says, ‘Hey man, I just want to say that it’s bullshit that we’re supposed to be on heels and babyface busses, and The Kliq, they all just go on one bus because they said ‘Fuck you guys, we’re gonna travel with who we want.’

The Kliq, consisting of Nash, Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Scott Hall, and Sean Waltman, was notorious for its influence within WWE during the 1990s. Their choice to travel together, despite the wrestling convention of keeping heels and babyfaces separate outside the ring, sparked controversy. This defiance of kayfabe—wrestling’s long-standing tradition of maintaining the illusion of in-ring rivalries in real life—was seen by some as undermining the industry’s heritage. Bigelow, a product of the mid-1980s wrestling scene where kayfabe was strictly enforced, saw The Kliq’s behaviour as a breach of respect for the business.
