Kevin Nash Says WWE Should Never Have Ended The Undertaker’s Streak

Kevin Nash Speaks About His Relationship With Fellow WWE Hall Of Famer The Undertaker

WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash has shared his candid thoughts on one of the most divisive moments in wrestling history, the end of The Undertaker’s legendary WrestleMania streak, labelling the decision a clear misstep.

Speaking on a 2024 episode of his podcast Kliq This, Nash made no effort to soften his stance, arguing that WWE should have never broken the streak, which had become one of the company’s most valuable storytelling assets.

“The only thing that this company has done that I am absolutely, 100% sure should have never happened was, you never should’ve beaten Undertaker at WrestleMania,” Nash said. “That streak, there was no upside to ever doing anything with that, because every WrestleMania you have, going forward, you had a 10-minute package about that streak, and that was something that was special. There was no reason to beat Mark.”

The Undertaker’s iconic run began at WrestleMania 7 in 1991 with a victory over “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka. Over the next two decades, he amassed a 21-0 record at the event, turning the streak into a cornerstone of WWE’s biggest show each year. The streak built immense anticipation and stood as a rare symbol of long-term storytelling in professional wrestling.

However, at WrestleMania 30 in 2014, The Undertaker’s undefeated run came to a sudden halt when he was defeated by Brock Lesnar, leaving fans in stunned silence. The loss marked a seismic shift in WWE’s narrative tradition.

For Nash, the choice to end the streak wasn’t just a booking decision; it was a blow to something sacred in wrestling lore.

Which Fellow WWE Hall Of Famer Did Kevin Nash Say Is The “Most Underrated Wrestler Of All Time”?

Kevin Nash spoke about a fellow WWE Hall of Famer he believes is the “most underrated wrestler of all time”, naming none other than his late, longtime friend Scott Hall. Hall became a major star in WWE during the early 1990s with his Razor Ramon persona, and after leaving WWE in 1996 to join WCW, he formed the iconic nWo alongside Nash and Hulk Hogan.
